Jersey Central Power & Light [JCP&L] has released estimates for when power will be restored to municipalities that were affected by Hurricane Sandy last week throughout New Jersey.

Many areas of the state have been without power since last Monday, including parts of Asbury Park. According to JCP&L’s timetable, 3,149 customers are currently without power in Asbury Park, out of 7,225 total customers in the city. This means 44 percent of the city’s residents are out of power.

JCP&L estimated 456 customers, or 14 percent of those without power, would have power restored today, Nov. 5. They estimate 432 customers, or 14 percent of those without power, will have power restored tomorrow, Nov. 6.

They estimate the largest percentage — 897 customers, or 28 percent of those without power — will have power restored on Wednesday, Nov. 7. On Thursday, Nov. 8, they estimate 686 customers — or 22 percent of those without power — will have power restored.

JCP&L estimates 419 customers, or 13 percent of those without power, will have power restored on Friday, Nov. 9. They estimate 248 customers, or 8 percent of those without power, will have power restored on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Estimates were not provided for Allenhurst, Loch Arbour and Interlaken “due to shore devastation,” according to JCP&L’s online timetable. “Parts of these towns will continue to be restored but we are still assessing the sections that cannot be connected,” it reads.
