Jody Joseph’s Heartstrings Comes To Asbury Park School
RB & TF Nonprofits Partner To Offer Students 8-week Program
Two area nonprofits have joined forces to offer music education to students at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Asbury Park.
The groups are Tinton Falls-based Heartstrings Incorporated and Red Bank-based Friendship Train Foundation.
The latter has been working with the over 90-year-old private K through 8 Catholic school since 2011.
Through their collaborative All Stars after-school learning and enrichment program, students are given every opportunity to discover their talents and interests, and build self-esteem as they strive to achieve their dreams, Program Manager Melissa Halk said.
New to the table, will be Jody Joseph’s Heartstrings program, which administers music education workshops.
Joseph is a veteran singer-songwriter, who just happens to be Jon Bon Jovi’s cousin. She launched her music enrichment Heartstrings program over a year ago.
The program will run for two 8-week sessions, beginning on April 10 at the Asbury Avenue located school. Twenty-five 6th to 8th grade students will be chosen to participate in a choral and piano tutorial program, with an end of year showcase already slated for June.
