The Second Life Bikes and Cowerks collaborative venture at 21 Main Street will be dubbed Junction Hall.

Set to open later this month, the redesigned historic 9,000 square-foot commercial space built in 1900, will serve as a hub, bridging the gap between the city’s east and west sides, Cowerks founder Bret Morgan said.cowerks expansion2

Located across the street from the Asbury Park Train Station, Junction Hall is just one block from Cookman Ave, set to provide a seamless connection to the city’s Central Business District, Main Street, and Springwood Avenue corridors.

The project’s first phase included a remodel of the existing space, which will continue to house Second Like Bikes at the front of the Main Street entrance and a satellite location for Cowerks, the city’s tech and startup hub, headquartered in the Lakehouse building on Lake Avenue.

Soon to come will be the addition of this summer’s boardwalk startup High Voltage Café, a community and event space, and a new and unique [soon to be disclosed] food experience.

“Startups come in all shapes and sizes,” Morgan said. “Our vision is to continue to serve the city’s tech community as well as provide the infrastructure for supporting some different types of entrepreneurship, including maker and food based startups.”

Junction Hall’s grand opening will coincide with Small Business Saturday and feature a four-week Winter Market by the Asbury Fresh Farmers and Makers Market crew. The popup event will showcase over 30 artisans, makers, and small business sellers who will provide a variety of handmade and one of a kind gifts in time for the holiday season.

The market will run from noon to 5 p.m. Saturdays Nov 26 through Dec 17, Morgan said. Expect live music from the local pool, a toy drive, free kids ornament making, pictures with Santa, and more.
