Kids get their Kindie Rock On at Family Holiday Rock Show
Lakehouse Music Academy Event to Benefit “Music Saved My Life”
This weekend kids of all ages got their rock on at the inaugural Family Holiday Rock Show at the Stone Pony.
Close to 600 people attended the Sunday afternoon event was sponsored by Lakehouse Music Academy to benefit Asbury Park Music Foundation’s “Music Saved My Life” youth initiative.
Headliners included Play Date – the award winning husband-and-wife duo Greg Attonito and Shanti Wintergate; Sprout Channel’s “Sunny Side Up” host Tim Kubart; Lakehouse Music Academy’s in-house kindie rock band the Lakehouse Lollies; and their student band, the Lakehouse Music Academy Jr. Pros, consisting of 9 to 12-year-old performers.
The two-hour event included a holiday photo booth with a rock ‘n’ roll Santa, a holiday tattoo station, face painting by Lacuna Paints, Rook Coffee Peppermint Style Cold Brew bar, a stroller valet, cash bar and grill and goodie bags.
“The Asbury Park Music Foundation believes that music is the soul of our city,” says Executive Director Matt Hockenjos. “Our mission is to preserve, exhibit and promote the rich musical heritage of Asbury Park – past, present and future – and to contribute to the city’s revitalization by securing Asbury as a musical destination. It is by creating partnerships and fundraisers like the Family Holiday Rock Show that we are able to reach our goals.”
