Langosta Lounge Thanksgiving
Free Holiday Dinner, Food Drive & Warm Clothing On The Menu
Thanksgiving dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Langosta Lounge, on the Asbury Park Boardwalk.
The annual community event is held in partnership with Pat Sherman of F.E.E.D.ing Frenz [Fostering Empathy, Easing Despair] and provides those in need with a free home-cooked holiday meal, company, and a chance to select warm, lightly worn clothing and coats. Meals are also delivered to hosuebound residents.
“After more than ten years, we are proud to continue our tradition of giving back to the local community during our Thanksgiving Community Dinner,” restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach [at right] said. “This dinner aims to alleviate some of the financial stress and burden that so often accompanies the holiday season, while still providing attendees with a warm and welcoming environment in which to enjoy their meals. By offering people the comforts associated with Thanksgiving dinner and Langosta Lounge, we aim to provide a warm and inviting holiday experience to everyone.”
Known for drawing hundreds, the communal experience continues behind the scenes. Schlossbach gives her Langosta Lounge, Pop’s Garage, and Asbury Park Yacht Club staff the day off, resting on the laurels of volunteers who return each year to serve as wait and kitchen staff for the day.
Donations in preparation of the meal will be collected through 8 p.m. Wednesday. Most needed items include turkeys, cooked hams and desserts, as well as lightly worn warm clothing and coats. Frozen turkeys should be delivered by 8 p.m. Tuesday.
In addition to the Thanksgiving Community Dinner, Langosta Lounge hosts similar Christmas and Easter complimentary dinners.
Langosta Lounge is located at 1000 Ocean Avenue inside the Third Avenue Pavilion on the Asbury Park Boardwalk. For more information, call 732-455-3275 or visit Marilyn.Kitchen.
