Langosta Lounge Thanksgiving Dinner Donations Accepted
Free Holiday Dinner and Warm Clothing Giveaway begins at 11 a.m.
Langosta Lounge will host its 10th Annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Held in conjunction with Pat Sherman, Director of F.E.E.D.ing Frenz [Fostering Empathy, Easing Despair], the free event provides anyone in need with a hot meal and company, organizers said.
“Our Thanksgiving Community Dinner aims to alleviate some of the financial stress that so often comes along with the holiday season,” Langosta Lounge owner Marilyn Schlossbach [at right] said. “By offering people the comforts associated with Langosta Lounge, we aim to provide a family-friendly environment that offers a warm and inviting holiday experience to those who need it.”
Donations are currently being accepted for turkeys, cooked hams and desserts, as well as lightly worn warm clothing and coats. Prepared food should be dropped off at Langosta Lounge by Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. but frozen turkeys will be accepted only until Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
Since its inception, the buffet style meal with tableside beverage service has grown in attendance each year. A host of volunteers work to pack take home meals, sort canned food donations and the winter clothing for distribution.
In addition to the Thanksgiving Community Dinner, Langosta Lounge hosts similarly organized complimentary Christmas and Easter meals.
Langosta Lounge is located at 1000 Ocean Avenue. For more information about the Thanksgiving Community Dinner, call 732-455-3275.
