Live Life Moving Expands On Bangs and Emory
Pilates, Fitness, and Health/Nutrition offered at client's pace
Offering fitness that moves at the client’s pace, Live Life Moving opens the new year with an expansion of its services.
The Pilates and Fitness Studio, located at the northeast corner of Bangs Avenue and Emory Street, opened Memorial Day Weekend last year. This month, the studio’s expansion translates into larger groups for cycling, group classes, community events, and special workshops.
Founder Aaron Ellis [at right], who moved to Asbury Park in 2010, entered the fitness industry following a 15 year long on and off Broadway career in productions like Tommy, West Side Story and Chorus Line.
“I wanted to be in a diverse community and like being near the ocean,” Ellis said. “I lived here for a while but once I opened the studio, I realized how much I enjoy this community. This area is full of wonderful, interesting people.”
Live Life Moving not only offers Classic Pilates Apparatus/Reformer Training but works individually with each client to establish a fitness regiment as well as health and nutrition coaching.
“I really wanted to develop a space where people feel comfortable and get what they need at their own pace,” Ellis said. “I didn’t want people to feel that they had to fit into a program that didn’t fit them or their lifestyle. Of course there is a bit of structure within the group classes but even with them, it’s about making sure everyone is getting personal attention and feel confident.”
The expanded offerings includes indoor cycling, core training, total body strength training and recovery techniques such as foam rolling, myofascial release, stretching, and mindfulness practices, Ellis said.
With an emphasis on stability and mobility, Ellis helps client’s set personal goals and prescribes exercises to suit each person’s ability. His programs are also designed to accommodate a diverse range of incomes, he said.
“It’s designed so people can take what they want when they want,” Ellis said.
In addition, specialized trainers Debra Esola [weight lifting / fitness boxing / post rehab] and Kurt Gesteland [classical Pilates / mind-body techniques / group fitness] have been added to team.
Live Life Moving is located at 535 Bangs Ave. The hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday Thursday Friday, 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
