Editor, the Asbury Park Sun,
We cannot stress how important it is to get out and vote. We have an election coming up that could possibly change the direction our city will take. We need to keep moving forward and build on the progress that has been made. We need experienced leaders who can stand up to adversity, unite the community and have a unified vision for our city as a whole.
Vote and make it count! Your vote does matter; you can make a difference in determining our future. One of the greatest privileges of being a citizen is having the opportunity to vote for you favorite candidate. If you don’t like the way things are going, whether for our city or schools, don’t complain — act. To not vote is the same as giving up.
It has been a privilege to serve our city and see our once abandoned Central Business District, oceanfront, Main Street, and Springwood Avenue start to flourish again. There is a lot of unfinished work and the people must determine the best candidates to keep it moving forward.
Again, we need experienced leaders who will put the city first and let go of personal agendas. Image what would happen if you had a council without knowledge or experience in municipal government? Lets not start from square one!
— Councilman John Loffredo and Deputy Mayor Sue Henderson, Asbury Park
