A calling is out for extras to take part in legendary songstress Darlene Love’s next video, according to her marketing and public relations firm Sammy Boyd Productions.
The video will be shot from 2 to 8 p.m. July 28 along the Third Avenue beach in Asbury Park. Participants are asked to wear brightly colored beachwear with no logos, photos or inappropriate sayings.
Producers are particularly interested in capturing images of a few surfers with their boards and wetsuits as well as hip hop, break dancers interested in showing off their skills.
All ages are welcome to participate in the beach dance-party theme video that will surround Love and her band. Their professional dancers will perform a ‘Soul Train’ style dance-off.
Love, who first reached national acclaim in the 1960s with her No 1 hit “He’s a Rebel,” credits Steven Van Zandt with heling to pave the way for her 1980s resurgence. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
Love’s upcoming album release with VanZandt will be showcased during their September 12 concert at the Paramount Theatre. Tickets for that show are on sale now at The Stone Pony Box Office and TicketMaster.com. Love and VanZandt will be joined on stage by The Monmouth Symphony Orchestra, The Glory to God Singers and other special guests.
VIP and Gold Circle tickets include access to an after party hosted by Love and VanZandt and a goody bag.
