Madison Marquette Renews Partnership With Live Nation
Ladyman: Live Nation brings both the much-loved reoccurring shows as well as new markets and artists
Asbury Park boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette has announced a continued partnership with Live Nation.
“The continuation of this relationship is representative of both party’s commitment to expanding and evolving the legendary performances that have long been synonymous with Asbury Park,” Project Director George H. Ladyman Jr [at right] said in a written statement. “We are excited about what’s to come. Live Nation brings both the much-loved reoccurring shows as well as new markets and artists.”
The partnership began back in 2008 when the entertainment booking company brought rock icon Lou Reed to the historic Paramount Theatre, located at 1300 Ocean Ave.
“We are thrilled to continue our relationship with Madison Marquette and the amazing venues in Asbury Park,” Live Nation’s Senior Vice President of Booking Sean Striegel said. “Over the last 10 years we have seen a renaissance happening in Asbury Park and a return to its status as a destination on the Jersey Shore. Music moves the world, and we have been able together to raise the bar on artists performing at these venues.”
In the past 10 year, the alliance saw the launch of the outdoor Stone Pony Summer Stage, which has featured performance by Willie Nelson, Jane’s Addiction, Stone Temple Pilots, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Pretenders, Lumineers and Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, to name a few.
“The Stone Pony Summer Stage has been an amazing experience to watch it transform into what it is today, and we plan on taking that farther with every new season,” Striegel said. ““Each year we have been able to impress the public with who is coming next. With our continued partnership, I can confidently say that each year will bigger and better, and always full of surprises.”
Madison Marquette is currently in the midst of redeveloping the Fourth and Fifth Avenue Pavilions on the Asbury Boardwalk and controls operation of the Stone Pony, the Stone Pony Summer Stage, Wonder Bar, Paramount Theatre and Convention Hall.
“Over the years, our partnership with Live Nation has enabled The Stone Pony to give our fans an exceptional array of talent from every genre of music,” Stone Pony General Manager Caroline O’Toole said. “We look forward to more years of working with our partners and friends at Live Nation.”
In October, Madison Marquette announced a partnership with Newark-based New Jersey Performing Arts Center, expanding on entertainment, shows and arts education at iconic Convention Hall and the Paramount Theatre.
That collaboration’s first joint venture will be an evening with celebrity astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson on Dec 13 at NJPAC and Dec. 15 at Convention Hall, located at 1300 Ocean Avenue.
