Major retailer gives Schlossbach a nod
Tommy Hilfiger, Glamour mag team up to honor four NJ women
Local restaurateur Marilyn Schlossbach was one of four New Jersey women recognized Thursday for her career during the grand opening celebration of the Tommy Hilfiger store at Garden State Plaza in Paramus, according to a release from the Tommy Hilfiger Group.
“The event recognized upstanding women in New Jersey from four totally different fields, and all tied into a national campaign for Glamour magazine’s “Woman of the Year” issue,” said Shannon Furey, Schlossbach’s public relations representative.
Schlossbach owns a string of businesses within Asbury Park, they are Langosta Lounge, the Oshin sushi room, the new Asbury Park Yacht Club bar, Lightly Salted Surf Mercado store, Libby’s Beach Shack, Pop’s Garage, and the Dauphin Grill restaurant located in the Berkeley Hotel, along with several other shore-area restaurants.
Representatives from Tommy Hilfiger partner with Glamour magazine for the benefit event and grand opening celebration. Glamour’s “Woman of the Year” issue hits stands in December. Magazine editors chose Malala Yousafzai as their 2013 recipient. Yousafzai founded The Malala Fund, a nonprofit organization that provides programs that impact the quality and accessibility of education for girls in Pakistan, the release stated.
Also recognized at the event were were Dr. Jane Aronson, founder of the Worldwide Orphans Foundation, Ines Rosales, Good Day New York personality, and Yasmine Rana, celebrated playwright and teacher, the release stated.
A portion of the sales from the event were donated to The Malala Fund, according to the release.
