A 23-year-old city resident shot this morning at the Propect Avenue basketball courts remains in critical but stable condition, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office spokesman Charles Webster.
Webster said the Asbury Park Police Department received a 911 call near 11:24 a.m. Wednesday that a black male was shot at the basketball courts, located in the area of 300 Prospect Avenue.
Police immediately responded and located the gunshot victim, whose identity is being witheld for the time being. He was transported to a local hospital by the Asbury Park Fire Department, Webster said.
A joint investigation was immediately launched by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Asbury Park Police Department.
