Victim still alive, officials say

A man was shot in Neptune last night, several blocks from Asbury Park’s western border.

The Neptune Township police responded to the corner of Monroe Avenue and George Street after receiving multiple 9-1-1 calls at 8:58 p.m. on March 24, said Charles Webster, public information officer for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Police found a 22-year-old male who had been shot, Webster said. The man was taken to an area hospital. He is still alive, although Webster was unsure of his condition as of this afternoon.
