Marilyn Schlossbach endorses Quinn, Chapman and Clayton
Rejects brother Arthur Schlossbach's candidacy for city council
Asbury Park restaurant owner and city resident Marilyn Schlossbach — in a statement sent to the Asbury Park Sun — has endorsed incumbent councilwomen Amy Quinn, Eileen Chapman and Yvonne Clayton [shown above] for the three council seats up for grabs in November.
Schlossbach’s brother, Arthur Schlossbach, is also a candidate.
The following is Marilyn Schlossbach’s statement:
“I would like to endorse three dynamic women for Asbury Park City Council: Amy Quinn, Eileen Chapman and Yvonne Clayton. I have worked with Amy, Eileen and Yvonne on many committees, events as well as through my non-profit Food For Thought By The Sea. They each possess the integrity and values that I feel are important to lead our community forward. We are a diverse and unique city which needs people who are committed to open dialogue and attention to the many varied needs.”
Arthur Schlossbach declined to comment on his sister’s statement. Marilyn Schlossbach had made a statement earlier in the day on social media endorsing Quinn, Chapman and Clayton.
Arthur Schlossbach’s campaign signs only state his last name, and do not include his first name. Schlossbach said that he did not omit his name on the sign to purposely mislead people into thinking his sister Marilyn was the candidate. All his other campaign material includes his first name, but to include his first name on the sign would have left no space for his slogan, Schlossbach said.
The three other candidates for the three council seats are Kerry Margaret Butch and Felicia Simmons, who are running together as a ticket, and Robert McKeon who is running as an independent.
