John McGillion — owner of Johnny Mac House of Sprits on Main Street — has a new concept for the former Adriatic restaurant site on Kingsley Street.

Original plans were for the Candy Bar, catering to the gay community, but McGillion will now open a bar at that location named Kim Marie’s, he said.

Kim Marie’s will offer food, and will attract a similar crowd as Johnny Mac’s, he said. There will be a disco and music “for the young people” on weekends, McGillion said. The bar is named after his daughter.

The Candy Bar will open at another location, he said. McGillion was not yet ready to disclose that new spot.
