Mixologist Competition Coming to Asbury Park
November 7 contest judges on showmanship, innovation & taste
In a city increasingly known for its counterculture music, art and restaurants, a new challenge has come to the horizon.
Next month, bartenders who take a more culinary approach to making drinks will be challenged during the First Annual Asbury Park Mixology Contest at Langosta Lounge.
Held from 3 to 9 p.m. Nov. 7, mixologists’ one of kind cocktails will be judged on showmanship, innovation and taste, organizers said.
While participants will be responsible for their own ingredients, blenders, juices, glassware, and accoutrements, a bottle of VDKA 6100, the spirit used for all cocktails, will be distributed to each contestant at registration.
Judging will be based on showmanship, innovation, and taste. The Best Overall Cocktail grand prize is $1500 and a trophy to be kept at the winner’s work place until next year’s competition.
An after party will feature the explosive local band – Deal Casino.
