Monmouth County Prosecutors On Duty During Election
Representatives will address voter fraud, intimidation, and illegal voting
Another layer of security will be in place during the Nov. 7 general election.
Representatives from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office will be on hand to assist voters with questions relating to everything from fraudulent voting and illegal voting to voter intimidation, Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni announced Tuesday.
“The Prosecutor’s Office will respond to reports of individuals casting a fraudulent vote, or attempting to cast an illegal vote, and to address any issues of voter intimidation from any source,” the written news statement said.
Officials said assistant prosecutors will be on duty throughout the 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. voting.
The State Office of the Attorney General also will be on hand at the Monmouth County Board of Elections headquarters in Freehold to provide ad hoc representation for any legal issues that may arise, officials said. The State Office of the Attorney General oversees the New Jersey State Division of Elections.
Judges will also be on duty at the Monmouth County Courthouse [71 Monument Park] to rule on whether a voter who has been challenged at the local polling place may be allowed to vote, officials said. The judges will have the authority to order a provisional or absentee ballot, officials said.
The Monmouth County Board of Election is located at 300 Halls Mill Rd.
