Morristown Man fatally struck crossing Rt. 35

A 42-year-old Morristown man was fatally injured Friday night along Route 35, Ocean Township Police Department spokesman Det. Lt. Kevin Faller said.
Officers responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle along the Route 35 near Logan Road, Faller said.
The victim was attempting to cross the state highway from the northbound lane to the southbound side near 6:13 p.m. in area not marked as crosswalk, Faller said.
“The victim was struck by a vehicle that traveling northbound on State Highway 35,” Faller said. “That vehicle, a 2006 white Jeep Grand Cherokee, was being operated by a 27-year-old Neptune City woman.”
The collision is being investigated by Sgt. Todd Gregory along with officers from the Monmouth County Serious Crash and Reconstruction Team [SCART] and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
No arrests or motor vehicle summonses have been issued, pending the result of the investigation, Faller said.
