A Tuesday evening motor vehicle stop resulted in the heroin possession arrest of a Barnegat woman, Ocean Township Police announced in a written statement.

Patrolman Ryan Krug conducted the motor vehicle stop at 10:50 p.m. after observing a moving violation along Route 66, officials said.

During the investigation, a passenger gave him a false name but was later identified as Crystal Algor. The 35-year-old Barnegat woman was taken into custody for outstanding warrants.

While in custody it was discovered that Algor did possess over 30 bags of heroin which was located in her undergarments, officials said. In addition to the heroin, hypodermic syringes and additional drug paraphernalia was found.

She was remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending a future court appearance, officials said.

Patrolman John Hanna assisted.

And on Friday, a motor vehicle stop for not wearing a seat belt while operating a vehicle led to the drug possession arrest of a Wall man, officials said.

Patrolman Dean Schoch was in the area of the Asbury Park Circle near 6:27 p.m. when he observed the vehicle and subsequently conducted the motor vehicle stop along Route 18 North, officials said.

While the investigation also revealed the vehicle’s driver had a suspended license, it was passenger Carl Thompson, 27, of Wall, who was taken into custody.

Thompson was found to be in possession of heroin and a syringe, officials said. Thompson was processed and released on a criminal summons, pending a future court appearance.
