After being destroyed in Hurricane Sandy, Mr. C’s Beach Bar and Bistro on the Allenhurst waterfront is now back in business.

The restaurant opens Monday night at 5 p.m., with lunch service beginning on Thursday.

Mr C’s co-owners Chic Perrotto and Karen Marzulli have a new ten year lease with the Borough of Allenhurst, which owns the building located at the Allenhurst Beach Club.

The building has been fully reconstructed and now includes an outdoor deck with ocean views. The bar and dining room still overlook the beach. The new kitchen is much larger than the old one, and the dining room is smaller.

The capacity is still significant — 150 inside and 60 on the deck outside, Marzulli said.

“We’re right on the ocean,” she said. “It can’t get better than this.”

The two partners had operated the bar and bistro for about six years when the hurricane struck in October, 2012.

“It was depressing,” said Marzulli in regard to the aftermath. “It’s a long haul to be back here.”

Mr. C’s Beach Bistro will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. It will be open year-round, and the restaurant hosts private parties and offers off-premise catering.
