Neptune men, 51, face multiple burglary & drug charges
Ocean PD: men were remanded to Monmouth County Jail
Two 51-year-old Neptune men charged with the ATM and alcohol burglaries at Langosta Lounge and Lightly Salted on the Asbury Park boardwalk are facing multiple burglary and drug charges out of Ocean Township, police officials announced Tuesday via a news release.
Following his October arrested in Asbury Park by Detective Michael Legg, Aaron Hearon was with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, two counts of criminal mischief and two counts of possession of burglary tools in connection to burglaries at the Middlebrook Bar and Save Rite Liquor, police department spokesman Det. Lt. Timothy Torchia said.
Hearon also was charged with attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools following the Sept. 29 burglary investigation at the Speedway Gas Station, and faces heroin, hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia possession charges.
Also arrested in connection with the burglary spree is Darren Covington, who faces burglary and theft charges for the Sept. 29 Save Rite Liquor store burglary as well as the Speedway Gas Station incident. Covington also was charged with possession of heroin, hypodermic syringes and drug paraphernalia.
Torchia said further investigation revealed Covington’s involvement in the May 2 burglary at the Shell Gas Station along Highway 66. Covington was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
Hearon was remanded to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of a cash only $70,000 bail set by Municipal Court Judge Timothy McGoughran.
Covington also was remanded to Monmouth County Jail in lieu of a total cash only $62,500 bail set by McGoughran.
Torchia said the two men face multiple charges from area municipalities, including Neptune.
