Multiple burglar arrested and four pounds of marijuana found in vehicle
A Long Branch man was charged with burglary after police responded to an alarm at Speedway Gas Station on Route 35, police officials said.
Rasul Amin Muhammad, 58 of Long Branch was charged with two counts of burglary, theft, criminal mischief, and possession of burglar tools.
Patrols responding near 4:45 a.m., observed a vehicle leaving the area and conducted a motor vehicle stop.
The investigation revealed that Muhammad was in possession of stolen property belonging to Speedway gas station. Muhammad was later identified as being involved in the June 22 burglary at American Way convenience store.
Muhammad was transported to Monmouth County Jail, pending an initial court appearance.
Police Officers David Marino, Ryan Vaccaro and Det Jesse Orbach investigated.
And, on June 15 patrol officers conducting a motor vehicle stop along Cindy Lane found over four pounds of marijuana in a vehicle, officials said.
Benjamin Santamaria, 28, of Red Bank and Hugo Soriano-Castillo, 25, of Long Branch were charged with possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to officials Santamaria, the vehicle’s driver was operating with a suspended license. While Patrol Officer Christopher Stenger was gathering information, he observed the bag of marijuana sitting on a seat of the vehicle.
Santamaria was transported to Monmouth County Jail pending an initial court appearance and Soriano-Castillo was released, pending a future court appearance.
