Ocean Twp Police Now Outfitted With Body Worn Cameras
JAG Grant funded Friday implementation
Police officers from the Ocean Township Police Department are now outfitted with body worn cameras, officials announced Friday.
The department received 36 body worn cameras last month under a Justice Assistance Grant [JAG] Grant administered via the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, according to a news release.
The cameras were placed into service Friday, beginning with the day shift force, officials said.
The Body Vision XV cameras, manufactured by L3 Mobile-Vision in Boonton, comply with Attorney General Law Enforcement Directive 2015-1 for police body worn camera and retention guidelines, officials said.
The cameras seamlessly integrate into the department’s L3 Mobile-Vision Flashback mobile video system being used in the police department vehicles, allowing for common storage server and back end management. This allows for the retention and processing of video for court and other required uses, officials said.
