Pallone Hosts Tax Plan Teach-In To Address GOP Legislation
Policy Experts Will Be On Hand At Friday Forum In Asbury Park
Congressman Frank Pallone [D-6] will host a Teach-In on the GOP Tax Plan at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Asbury Park.
“Last month, the Republican majority in Congress passed a tax plan that I believe will be detrimental to millions of New Jersey families,” Pallone said in a written social media announcement. “The proposal would cut taxes for the super-wealthy in part by limiting or eliminating deductions that help working families make ends meet.”
The Senior Congressman, who is serving his 15th term in office, said he is hosting the forum to ensure constituents are educated on the consequences of the law. Representatives from New Jersey Policy Perspective and New Jersey Citizen Action and local officials will be attendance, organizers said.
“Numerous studies have found that the GOP Tax Plans especially disastrous for New Jersey due to its limits on many crucial deductions including State and Local taxes and property taxes,” he said.
There will be an opportunity for the public to voice their concerns and address how the tax plan will affect their families and future, organizers said.
The event will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in City Council Chambers at 1 Municipal Plaza in Asbury Park. Those interested in attending can RSVP by emailing rsvpnj06@mail.house.gov The event will be live streamed via his Facebook Page.
Pallone will return to Asbury Park Saturday as the featured guest during the Asbury Park Democrats Holiday Brunch at DJ’s Delights Restaurant on Mattison Avenue.
The free event will be held from 10 a.m. to noon and includes a food and clothing drive in support of Trinity Episcopal Church and Fulfill.
