The Bamboozle event area is ready for today’s opening of the three-day music festival in Asbury Park. The Sun’s Molly Mulshine was on the scene.

Crowds of 90,000 are expected over the three days of the festival, with concert promoter LiveNation estimating attendance at 20,000 today, 40,000 on Saturday and 30,000 on Sunday. The festival area is in the waterfront area north of Convention Hall and east of Kingsley Avenue, as well as in Bradley Park just west of Convention Hall.

LiveNation says the festival area has a capacity of 60,000. The concert promoter says it will cut off ticket sales at that amount if the crowds are larger than expected. Over 100 musical acts are scheduled.

The festival begins at 5 pm today, and 2 pm on Saturday and Sunday.
