Pony Summer Stage announces acts for season
Cake, Pixies and Gogol Bordello make first appearance at outdoor venue
The Stone Pony on Monday announced a ten-date preview of its 2015 Summer Stage series.
Acts new to the Summer Stage this year include Cake, Halestorm with The Pretty Reckless, Pixies with TV on the Radio, and Gogol Bordello with Flogging Molly and Mariachi El Bronx, according to a news release from the music venue.
“We are throwing a party that lasts all summer long, and everyone is invited,” said Caroline O’Toole, Stone Pony General Manager.
Additional acts are still to be announced for the summer season, according to Angie Sugrim, director of venue marketing for boardwalk redeveloper Madison Marquette.
Cake will perform for the first time at the Summer Stage on July 10.
“At long last, we are privileged to see Asbury Park again,” said Cake singer John McCrea. “It has been awhile since we have visited the downtown area, Cookman Avenue and the boardwalk, and it will be inspiring to revisit this classic city on the ocean.”
Also scheduled for the season ar Umphrey’s McGee, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, and Slightly Stoopid.
