The bi coastal Punk Rock Bowling and Music Festival will return to Asbury Park this June, organizers announced Monday.

Tickets and registration is now open for participation in the 19th anniversary showcase being held at The Stone Pony Summer Stage.

Headlining are The Specials and NOFX, who will be joined by punk pioneers Buzzcocks, Charles Bradley and His Extraordinaires, Dillinger Four, Canadian upstarts PUP, and a rare reunion from Boston-based The Explosion.

Punk Rock Bowling began in 1999 as a DIY bowling tournament by brothers Shawn and Mark Stern, owners of BYO Records.

“It has prided itself on combining the perfect mixture of classic competition with an anti-authoritarian spirit,” organizers said in a written statement.

Today the event draws the biggest and best from across the globe to Las Vegas and Asbury Park.

“We want to bring the whole experience of what we’ve been doing in Las Vegas for the past 18 years to Asbury Park,” co-founder Mark Stern said. “Vegas is it’s own animal where the party goes all night,  Asbury has a distinct appeal with the ocean right across the street from the festival stage, there is a neighborhood type of vibe going on that gives the festival a truly unique setting.”

This year Punk Rock Bowling will run from May 26 to 29 in Las Vegas, and from June 9 to 11 in Asbury Park.

Early bird tickets now on sale for Punk Rock Bowling East include a limited 2 Day Pass for $95 and the regular 2 Day Pass for $105. Single day tickets will go on sale March 3 at 4 p.m. [EST]. The are $60 for Saturday and $55 for Sunday.
