The long-awaited R Bar on Main Street is ready for its opening.

“Our grand opening is this Thursday May 6th!” said Kelly Victor in an email to the Sun. Victor and Lindsey Taylor are partners in R Bar and will operate it.

“Reservations will be available on Open Table beginning on Wednesday the 5th,” Victor said. “We will have the Ocean Avenue Stompers starting at 6:00 pm.”  

The initial opening hours will be Thursday through Monday at 5pm.  R Bar’s full dinner menu is available inside in the main dining room starting at 5pm.

The spacious back yard area will be open on Saturday and Sunday at noon, for R Bar’s self serve “Wine and Charcuterie Program.”  (Weather Pending) 

R Bar features a downstairs main bar with a restaurant. A dramatic upstairs “Green Room”, which is almost all glass, opens out to an outdoor second floor balcony area, with a touch of New Orleans style wrought-iron framing it. 

R Bar is backed by several investors who all own residences in Asbury Park. Two other partners in the project —Dana Kelly and Connie Nappi — will also be involved on the business side. 

As for the offerings planned at R Bar, Taylor previously told the triCityNews newspaper that the food is going to span from casual to high-end.

“You can come in off the beach in shorts and flip flops,” she said. “You can also come on a date night or special event. We just want you to have a good time.”
