Red Bull Switchboard Launches On East Coast
Surf, Skate, Ski, and After Party Event Comes To Asbury Park
From surf to skate and onto snow, Red Bull Switchboard launches Saturday on the shores of Asbury Park.
“It’s a bucket-list day, where board sports enthusiasts have the opportunity to surf and skate in the morning and snowboard in the afternoon,” Madison Marquette Director of Communication Adam Nelson said.
And while tickets to register as a contestant are now closed, all are welcome to watch the cold water surf and cold weather skate fun unfold from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. in front of Asbury Park Boardwalk Casino, located at 700 Ocean Ave.
An expected 100 athletes will paddle out for a surf session and skate Fourth Union [inside the Carousel building] before embarking on a shuttle ride by OvrRide to Mountain Creek Resort to hit the slopes, Nelson said.
“New Jersey is one of the few places in the world where surf breaks and ski resorts are within close proximity to one another,” Nelson said via a written statement. “The winter weather on the East Coast isn’t always ideal, but nor’easter storms are known for bringing fresh powder to the mountains and big swells to the beach.”
At day’s end, there will be a 6:30 p.m. After Party at Anchor’s Bend, located in Convention Hall’s Grand Arcade at 1300 Ocean Ave.
