The city’s schools are remaining closed until further notice, so local organizations are continuing to provide recreation opportunities for area youth.

The school buildings’ power has been restored but officials are now assessing damage, city manager Terence Reidy said. School is closed tomorrow.

Recreation was provided for children from noon to 3 p.m. at the Boys and Girls Club on Monroe Avenue today. The club will open again for club members from 3 to 6 p.m. The boxing facility above the Department of Public Works [DPW] building is open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m. for weights and boxing. Children must be accompanied by adults, and all must sign release forms at the boxing facility.

Recreation options will continue until school re-opens, Reidy said.
