Scrooge: The Musical returns to the Paramount
Tickets on sale for Dec. 5, 6, 12, & 13 performances
The Premier Theatre Company brings back its classic holiday tale – Scrooge: The Musical – to the Paramount Theatre this month.
Performances begin 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday and run through 7 p.m. Dec. 12 and 1 p.m. Dec. 13.
This year’s production features a full orchestra, with book and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse.
Closely adapted from 1970 film Scrooge starring Albert Finney, the musical closely follows Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol, in which Ebenezer Scrooge’s redemption occurs following the Christmas Eve night visit by the ghost of former partner Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas past, present and future.
Premier Theatre founder and veteran producer and director Mark Fleming leads the cast of Joe Necci as Ebeneezer Scrooge, Bob Ferry as Christmas Present, Matt Whelan as Bob Cratchit, Mary Lawrence Keefe as Christmas Past, Kristen Giaritta Lanko as Isabel, Billy Raulerson as Scrooge’s nephew Fred, James Maccioli as Jacob Marley, Tom Kellegher as Mr. Fezziwig, and an ensemble of over 50 other local performers.
Premier Theatre Company is a nonprofit that works to foster burgeoning playwrights and performing artists. Its fundraising endeavors include donating 50 percent of certain ticket sales to charitable organizations.
Scrooge: The Musical tickets are available via the Premier Theatre Co. website or by calling (732) 774-7827. Ticket prices are $25 per person; $20 for seniors; $15 for students; and $12 for children under 13. Group discounts are available.
The Paramount Theatre is located at 1300 Ocean Avenue, along the Asbury Park boardwalk.
