Security zones established for Obama visit
Access restricted on waterfront, parking banned on Memorial Drive
A security zone and other security measures will be in place for President Obama’s visit to the city on Tuesday, according to a “code red” alert from the Asbury Park Police Department.
The President’s remarks will be delivered in the area of Convention Hall, the alert stated.
A security zone will will be established from Third to Sixth avenues and east of Kingsley Street to the oceanfront, the alert stated.
There will be no beach access between Third and Sixth avenues. The entrance for ticket holders to the Presidential address will be at Third and Ocean avenues, according to the alert. Ticket holders will be admitted at 11:30 a.m.
Parking will also be prohibited on Memorial Drive and on Fifth Avenue east of Memorial Drive, according to the alert. Street and residential parking in these, and other areas, of the city may be restricted at times. Alternate side of the street parking will be suspended on Tuesday.
