Shamrock And Shillelagh Fest Comes To Convention Hall
St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations Continue Saturday in Asbury Park
St. Patrick’s Day celebrations continue Saturday as Shamrock and Shillelagh Fest comes to Convention Hall on the Asbury Park Boardwalk.
Held in partnership with ThePopBreak.com and The Anchor’s Bend, the event kicks off at 3 p.m. and features an all things Irish – music, food, and fun, organizers say.
Performances include the city’s own singer/songwriter Chris Brown, headlining the afterparty at Anchor’s Bend.
Throughout the afternoon Asbury Park comedian/musician Taylor Allen will host a lineup that features U2 tribute act – The Unforgettable Fire. In homage to the 30th anniversary of Joshua Tree’s release, the NYC band will perform two full sets that includes the classic album’s composition in its entirety.
Joining the lineup is Jersey based Celtic punk rock outfit The Skels and DJ Patty O’Furniture, spinning between sets.
An Irish buffet by Anchor’s Bend Chef Charlie will showcase classic dishes like the classic corned beef and cabbage with potatoes, Shepherd’s Pie, an Irish Hot Dog – Bangers topped with roasted potatoes and ale-infused boiled cabbage, and jumbo pretzels with a beer-cheese sauce. The buffet is paired with Jameson Lounge and Guinness Beer Garden.
Tickets, $15 in advance and $35 with the buffet, are available via The Stone Pony box office and Ticketmaster. Tickets are $20 at the door.
