Shooting victim identified as 25-year-old city man
Incident took place in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue
A 25-year-old male from Asbury Park has been identified as the victim of a shooting incident that took place in the 1200 block of Washington Avenue Monday, according to Charles Webster, spokesman for the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
Asbury Park police responded to an emergency call placed at 8:59 p.m. Monday evening altering them to the incident, Webster said.
The victim was shot once and was transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center where his injury was deemed non-life-threatening, he said. Webster is not aware if the victim has been released or if the incident was gang related. Police are not releasing the name of the victim or where he was shot.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing. No suspects have been identified and no arrests have been made, he said.
