Shots fired near Springwood and Union avenues Wednesday

Incident took place around noon today

Asbury Park Police are investing an incident of shots fired near the intersection of Springwood and Union avenues, police confirmed.

The incident took place around noon Wednesday, according to Police Captain Marshawn Love. Police found several bullet casings at the scene, he confirmed.

“We’re currently investigating the incident,” he said, “following all leads and attempting to find any suspects or injuries.”

The Monmouth County Police, Fire & EMS Facebook page is reporting a 6-foot tall male suspect was spotted fleeing from the area towards Atkins Avenue around the time of the incident, but Love is unable to confirm that information.
