Asbury Park police responded to a several calls of shots fired on the 1500 block of Sewall Avenue Thursday evening, Asbury Park Police Chief Mark Kinmon has confirmed.
The calls came in around 7:00 p.m., he said.
Officers have located evidence of a shooting but have not found any victims, he said.
As of 8:15 p.m. Thursday, Monmouth County First Assistant Prosecutor Marc Lemieux also confirmed shots were fired in the area and “no one at this point is claimed to have been hit,” he said.
Both the Asbury Park Police Department and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Officer are investigating the incident.
The location of the incident is within two blocks of where 28-year-old Asbury Park resident Jermaine Huntley was gunned down Thursday morning.
