Showroom to host public speaking workshop
Interactive session will be given by Asbury's Words! bookstore owners
If the research is true, over three-quarters of the people that read this article have a fear of public speaking.
On Thursday, April 10th, Jan Sparrow and Scott Asalone, co-owners of Words! Bookstore in Asbury Park, will help attendees combat those fears at a one-time workshop, “Taking the Fear Out of Public Speaking”, or “How to Talk About Anything,” according to an event release.
Speaking up to voice ideas and speaking out to be heard are two of the most powerful skills for anyone in any walk of life — and yet, many of us find it very challenging.
This fun, interactive 90-minute session held at The Shorwoom Cinema [show at right] will bust the myths behind public speaking and offer a few specific, easy, time proven strategies that will help you craft your ideas and offer them to others in a more powerful way.
Sparrow and Asalone are international speakers, and experts on communication. For more then two decades they have researched, coached, and spoken about the myths surrounding communication. Whether you want to speak before the City Council, have to give a toast at a wedding, have a business that needs ideas about presentation, this seminar is for you.
The workshop is hosted by Monmouth County SCORE, and The Business Development Center of Interfaith Neighbors.
Tickets cost $15 and include a continental breakfast. Seating is limited, click here to reserve a seat.
The ShowRoom is located at 707 Cookman Ave.
