Six candidates vie for three Board of Education seats
Two incumbents seek another term in November election
Six candidates have filed to run for three seats on the Asbury Park Board of Education. The election will be held Nov. 5.
The candidates are Connie Sue Breech of 1500 3rd Ave., Arva M. Council of 1303 Summerfield Ave., incumbent Nicolle D. Harris of 17 Ridge Ave., Corey Lowell of 831 Dunlewy St., Felicia Simmons of 1410 Summerfield Ave., and incubment Qzeena Taylor of 102 Union Ave., according to the election division of the Monmouth County Clerk’s office.
The term of office is three years.Current board member Joseph Raines, Jr. is not seeking re-election. The deadline to file a nominating petition was Tuesday.
Breech served on the Board of Education from 2009-2011, and Lowell was the district business administrator from 2008-2011, according to Christine Coloma, the district’s community relations coordinator.
