Two candidates have withdrawn their petitions to run in the Asbury Park Board of Education election on April 25, according to district officials.

They include newcomer David Baker and former BOE member Christian Hall.

“Mr Hall has withdrawn but did so after the deadline,” district spokeswoman Chanta Jackson said. “His name will appear unless he petitions the court to have it removed.”

The remaining candidates vying for the three seats are listed below in the order of their ballot position:

• James Famularo of Park Ave, a former BOE member and city employee who works as a substitute teacher

• Eric Pinckney of Deal Lake Drive, an Asbury Park Press employee who founded the annual Pink Prom benefit in the city

• Felicia Simmons of Seventh Ave, a current BOE member

• Stephen Williams of Central Ave, a current BOE member

• Carol Jones of Bond Street, a current BOE member

• Joe Grillo of Cookman Ave, Chair of the Asbury Park Democratic Organization who is Director of Development for the New Jersey Audubon Society

Voters will cast ballots on April 25 for the three available three-year seats as well as for approval of the 2017-18 budget.
