SNL Alum Sasheer Zamata headed to Asbury Park
Paramount Theatre Backstage Show allows audience to share the stage with the comedian
Saturday Night Live alum Sasheer Zamata is headed to the Paramount Theatre on the Asbury Park Boardwalk, Madison Marquette spokesman Adam Nelson has announced.
The October 13 event is a part of their Paramount Theatre Backstage series, where the audience and the comedian share the historic stage.
Zamata, who raised in Indianapolis, is a University of Virginia graduate and founding member of its long-form improv comedy troupe – Amuse Bouche.
On Wednesday morning, Time picked up comedian/actress’ written reflection on her time in Charlottesville following the violence that broke out at Saturday’s rally.
The 31-year-old was apart of Saturday’s Night Live’s lineup for four seasons [from January 2014 to May 2017]. She was a member of the Upright Citizens Brigade improv and sketch training program and appeared on People of Earth, Transparent, Inside Amy Schumer, Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell, and Bojack Horseman.
Her comedy special Sasheer Zamata: Pizza Mind debuted in March and her films include Sleight, Yoga Hosers and Deidra & Laney Rob a Train, and the upcoming The Outdoorsman.
Tickets to the 7 p.m. Oct. 13 show are $25 via Ticketmaster or the Stone Pony Box Office, located at 913 Ocean Ave.
