Some businesses remain open in Asbury area
Beckman's and Hardware Store of Asbury Park are open, Porta Pizza opens on Saturday
With the greater Asbury Park area still without power, some businesses have nonetheless managed to open their doors.
The Hardware Store of Asbury Park on Main Street was open on Thursday. Meanwhile, the Sun received a message from Jerome Beckman of Beckman’s on Bangs Avenue saying that he is open to serve pork roll, egg and cheese sandwiches and other food items, and sell cigarettes and sundries. Beckman included a picture of a generator outside his business.
Porta Pizza on Kingsley will open on Saturday, according to manager Freddi Vilardi. The Porta bar will be open 1-7 p.m. and a limited menu of marinara and Nutella pizzas will be available 2-6 p.m., she said.
The Brickwall on Cookman Avenue is currently open, serving bottled beer and drinks.
