Springsteen unable to join Grushecky in Asbury Park
Social Media post cites scheduling conflict
Hope that Bruce Springsteen will join Joe Gruschecky or Eddie Manion during next weekend’s performances in Asbury Park were shattered Thursday.
“Due to ticket speculation, I want to say that I will not be able to join Joe Grushecky at his upcoming shows in Asbury as I will be out of town,” Springsteen posted on Facebook. “Wishing Joe all the best! Have some great nites.”
Springsteen made national headlines in July after joining Gruschecky and Manion on stage at the Wonder Bar.
Manion, a saxophonist with the E-Street Band, is an original member of Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes. His “Nightlife in the Afternoon with Saxophonist Eddie Manion” is a three-event listening release party running from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 23 and 24, and 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 25. Tickets are $18, available here.
Gruschecky, whose collaboration with Springsteen began with the 1995 “American Babylon” album, will perform at 7 p.m. Oct. 23 and 24 on the Stone Pony’s Summer Stage. Tickets are $28.50, available at the Stone Pony box office.
