Storm cleanup continues

municipal updates include school openings and power outages

On Monday afternoon, Deal Police Department reports the temporary power outage on Elberon and Euclid avenues are due to a fallen tree. JCP&L is on scene and addressing the issue, officials said.

Deal Police also asked Interlaken residents to remove bulk items from the road side.

“January bulk pickup has been completed. Please remove any bulk items from the roadway and place them back on February 22,” the alert reads. “DPW has resumed cleanup operations for winter storm Jonas.”

Asbury Park also announced Monday afternoon that their website, cityofasburypark.com is up and running. The site went off line close to one week ago due to nonpayment. Bills, officials said, were sent to an inactive email account.

The city also announced Tuesday and Wednesday recycling pickup is suspended in order to aid with the snow removal process.

Ocean Township schools will be on a two hour delayed opening Tuesday. The municipality has rescheduled Zone 4 bulk pickup for Feb. 1.
