Sun’s City Council Preview
Special Event fees, Wastewater Plant project, & 1101 Ocean on agenda
The Asbury Park City Council is scheduled to hold a workshop meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in council chambers at City Hall, located at 1 Municipal Plaza.
The public participation session takes place near the end of the meeting, after comments from city officials. Items on the agenda for the meeting include:
• Special event considerations include the Jersey Shore AC’s annual Polar Bear Races slated for 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 27; the Sons of Ireland Polar Bear Plunge slated for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 1, 24th Annual Asbury Park Fishing Club Flea Market slated for 6a.m. to 3 p.m. March 13; and the Jersey Shore Run College and Boys and Girls Club of Monmouth County sponsored Second Annual Tutu for BGCM slated for 9 to 11 a.m. April 30.
• A discussion will be held regarding changes to special event fees, including those pertaining to police and/or fire details.
• Consulting City Engineer Christine Ballard of T&M Associates will discuss updates to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Emergency Generator Replacement project; the TWA application for 1101 Ocean Avenue; and a proposal for traffic signal warrant studies.
• The City Council will consider setting 2016 reorganization meeting and its yearly calendar, concessions, and the transportation center lease agreements.
In observance of Veteran’s Day, this week’s Regular City Council Meeting will take place Thursday. The regular meeting begins at 4:30 p.m. with an executive session and is followed by a 6:30 p.m. public workshop and a 7 p.m. regular meeting.
