SUNSET LAKE FOOT BRIDGE RESTORATION BEGINS
Residents Should Expect Loud Noises From Nov 28 to Dec 30
Asbury Park officials are warning area residents to expect loud noises during the duration of the Sunset Lake Foot Bridge restoration project.
While the preliminary work has begun, demolition kicks off on November 28 and will be followed by test and permanent pile driving through December 30, according to a written news release.
The Sunset Lake Footbridge has been closed since sustaining structural damage during Hurricane Sandy in 2012. The bridge connects Emory Street between Sunset and Fifth avenues. A FEMA grant was awarded for the bridge’s full replacement and repairs to parts of its lake boundary areas.
The project is expected to run through March 31.

In addition, all residents are encouraged to sign up for Nixle, used by the municipality’s Communications and Police Departments to send public safety and information notifications via telephone, text, and/or email.
