Suspected gun possession leads to heroin arrest
Weapon revealed to be pellet gun, drugs found on scene
A man who was allegedly spotted tucking a handgun into the waistband of his pants was arrested on drug charges when police found 30 bags of heroin in his possession.
At approximately 4:30 p.m. on May 20, Ocean Township police responded to a call from a witness who said they saw a man place a handgun into the back waistband of his pants in the area of Wickapecko Drive, in the Wanamassa section of the township, according to a news release from police.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found Kevin Goss, 22, Wanamassa, inside a residence in the area. Goss’s alleged handgun turned out to be a realistic looking pellet gun but the investigation uncovered Gosss was in possession of 30 bags of heroin, prescription pills and drug paraphernalia, the release stated.
Goss was charged with possession of heroin, possession of prescription legend drugs without a prescription and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on a complaint summons and is scheduled to appear a future court hearing.
Police Officers Kevin Donohoe and John Goncalves, Lt. Michael Sorrentino, Lt. Eduardo Segarra, Sgt. Gregory Tongring and Det. Sgt. Thomas Burke were involved in the investigation and arrest.
