Target Shoplifting Investigation leads to Drug Arrests

Three Charged With Heroin And Crack Cocaine Possession

Three people were arrested Monday night on drug possession charges following a shoplifting investigation at a Target on Route 66, Ocean Township Police announced.

Latoya N. Stevens, 36, of Asbury Park and Jemal Kenney, 46, of Brielle were charged with heroin and crack cocaine possession,  evidence tampering, drug paraphernalia possession and shoplifting. Jordan Jacobson, 49, of Ocean Grove was charged with the aforementioned as well as possession of hypodermic syringes.

Officials, who responded near 7:20 p.m., obtained a vehicle description and registration, which  then led to a motor vehicle stop in Asbury Park. The accused were found in possession of the stolen property, officials said.

The three were remanded to Monmouth County Jail, pending an  initial court appearance.

Police Officer Alon Bercovicz, Detectives Jesse Orbach, Greg Martone and Det Sgt Patrick Martin investigated.
