Taylor Tote Band Premiere Headline at The Stone Pony
Friday lineup features Wyland, SØF, and late set by Black Brant
The thrill of headlining at the iconic Stone Pony comes into fruition for Jersey Shore artist Taylor Tote and her band on Friday.
“We are so excited to headline a special show to connect with our friends and fans, and the people that have been supporting me through my journey,” Tote said in a written news release. “We have had a busy schedule with traveling, performing, and recording, so I’m thrilled we were able to work out a date to headline The Stone Pony.”
The band members are drummer Anthony Flora, lead guitarist Tom Briant, bassist John Murray, guitarist Nick Piescor, and keyboardist Rob Murdock, [shown at right].
The night’s lineup includes performances by indie rockers Wyland, and SØF, as well as a late night set from classic rock inspired Black Brant.
“The night is extra special and means so much because this is where we come from, this is our roots, and being asked to headline is humbling,” Tote said. “We have had the honor to open for some great acts at the Pony, but it is invigorating to be the headliner. The Pony’s support means so much to us, we truly love everyone there.”
Tote, a Monmouth County native, has named Amy Winehouse, Grace Potter, Adele, Maroon 5 and Stevie Nicks as those who influenced her sound. She’s opened for such notables like Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and garnered an Asbury Music Award nominations for Top Female Vocalist; both as a member of a band and as a solo artist.
“The vibe of the Pony is incredible,” Tote said. “We feed off the energy in the room, which is always high. It’s hard to put on a kick-ass performance when you feel like there’s no energy or people aren’t into it, but that’s never the case at the Pony.”
Doors open at 7 p.m. for the Friday night showcase. Tickets are $10 in advance, available at stoneponyonline.com, and $15 at the door. The Stone Pony is located at 913 Ocean Ave. For more information, visit her website and Facebook pages.
