The Asbury Park Music Foundation [APMF] has found a new home and has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help with the move.
APMF will be moving to the Lakehouse Music Academy building on Lake Avenue once its expansion and renovations are complete.
“The APMF is thrilled to be a part of the music community,” Executive Matt Hockenjos, said. “We look forward to collaborating with all of the artists and businesses in our backyard, and moving the Foundation into a new realm of success.”
The renovation budget is estimated at $85,000, according to a news releas. Aside from building renovations, the crowd funding campaign also will support funding for the Foundation’s marketing needs to support a rebranding campaign.
The move is scheduled for April 2016. The GoFundMe will continue through April 10.
Founded in 2011 to preserve, exhibit and promote the city’s musical heritage, APMF opened their Where Music Lives space on Cookman Avenue in 2012.
The move is expected to coincide with their annual Asbury Park Music in Film Festival, scheduled this year for April 8 to 10.
