The Asbury unveils its Asbury Hall & Lawn venue
Launch party include live music, Top Gun screening and fireworks
The Asbury celebrates its grand opening 6 p.m. Thursday with an official launch party.
Open to the public, the event features a full lineup of live performances, the unveiling of The Hall, its special event space, a showing of Top Gun at the Baronet, and private fireworks at night’s end.
The Asbury Hall & Lawn is a 4,800-square-foot indoor/outdoor flex space capable of transforming into everything from a corporate retreat destination to a family reunion space and wedding venue. According to The Asbury website, the space is divisible into two or three smaller spaces.
Located at 210 Fifth Ave, the long vacant Salvation Army building was transformed into the 110 room hotel by waterfront redeveloper iStar, who contracted architect Gary Handel, design veteran Anda Andrei, formerly with Ian Schrager Company, and hotel innovator David Bowd of Salt Hotels to bring the project into fruition.
The hotel also features two rooftop spaces, a beer garden and a lobby in the ilk of an oversized family fun space, complete with pool table and music library in its Soundbooth bar.
The city’s first hotel of its size in more than 50 years, The Asbury opened Memorial Day weekend. Room rates start at $125 per night and bookings are available via The Asbury’s homepage or by email at info@theasburyhotel.com.
The launch party events include:
6PM, Emily Grove @ Salvation
8PM-11PM, Open Mic Night Feat. Jimmy James C @ Soundbooth
7PM-12PM, Nicole Atkins, Opener: Quincy Mumford and The Reason Why at Asbury Hall
10PM – Fireworks
Movie Showing: Top Gun @ Baronet
